About the Massage for lymphoedema courses;

This day course teaches very simply how massage for lymphoedema using the principles of Complex Physical (Lymphatic) Therapy (CPT) is performed for legs or arms by a carer or therapist. A Certificate of attendance and completion awarded at end of day.

The day course is suitable for professionals or patients and their carer to learn effective massage techniques for self help. It is very suitable for Professional Massage therapists, O/T's, Physios and Nurses wanting to know more and gain an introduction about the specific management of lymphoedema and oedema reduction.

About the Bandaging for lymphoedema courses;

This is a day course to teach the principles of Complex Physical (Lymphatic) Therapy (CPT) for bandaging a leg or arm for lymphoedema and lipoedema. A Certificate of attendance and completion awarded at end of the day.

This 'hands on' day course is suitable for professionals, patients and carers. No prior experience is necessary. The  course shows the bandaging techniques almost anyone can perform for lymphoedema and lipoedema. 

Professionals, patients and carers alike will find this a most beneficial course when needing to know the exact special techniques for lymphoedema and lipoedema bandaging.

LAA Training  -  Full Course Full course; Complex Lymphatic Therapy for Treatment of Lymphoedema. - (Casley-Smith Method) Date:     Visit www lymphoedema.org.au  for dates of this course Duration:   135 hours (9am-5pm daily, Excluding Sundays) Venue:  Southern Highlands NSW. This is a full professional three week training course teaching the theory and principles and of Complex Physical (Lymphatic) Therapy for the Treatment of Lymphoedema (CPT) The course is suitable for post graduate level training of  Massage Therapists Occupational Therapists (O/T's), Physiotherapists, Nurses and Doctors. Shuttle Bus - Sydney

Shuttle bus service is normally around $100.00 for the return trip (door to door from airport to Lansvale and back top airport). Service is pleasant and the drivers are very helpful.

We start and finish courses on time so you can make your travel arrangements with confidence. Courses finish at 3.30pm.

 

It takes approx a 1 hour travel (or a little less) to and from the airport depending on traffic.

 

Most people fly in on the morning of their first day, stay the night at a motel and will travel home the evening they complete the final day of their course.

The shuttle bus is located near the Sydney Airport Domestic Terminal buildings . It takes around 1 minute to walk from the baggage pickup area at either terminal to reach the shuttle bus waiting area. 

For Qantas passengers, turn right when leaving the baggage pickup doors and walk to the shuttle bus waiting area

For Virgin and Jetstar passengers, turn left when leaving the baggage pickup doors and walk to the shuttle bus waiting area.

 

 

Educational information 
The course teaches Physiotherapists, OT's, Remedial Massage Therapists, Nurses, Naturopaths or those training for these professions, and on occasions Carers and their patients. Pre reading materials are included and supplied as part of the course.

Due to the fact many people of differing education levels and need attend the courses, to ensure real usable information is provided to everyone, we summarise theory at the beginning of the day to ensure physiological actions and theoretical object of treatment for lymphoedema and lipoedema is understood to the required level of need by all participants.

 

We find most Allied health care professionals, Remedial Massage Therapists, Naturopaths and Natural Therapists already have a good base understanding of the required physiological concepts and are easily able to understand the principles of lymphatic therapy as it is explained.

 

Once theoretical knowledge is established at the relevant levels of each participant, then practical work is more easily implemented, understood and retained.
